DECC delivers specialized services across the entire spectrum of risk and crisis management, encompassing Disaster Risk Reduction, Humanitarian Response, Crisis Recovery, and Peace- Building, all anchored within an overarching Gender Equity and Social Inclusion framework. Our expertise is grounded in rigorous studies, research, and evaluations, spanning disaster risk assessment, mapping, early warning systems, and financing (including risk transfer and insurance). We provide essential support for preparedness, contingency planning, emergency response, resilient infrastructure, and peace building. Crucially, we focus on localization and community-based disaster risk reduction, extending through humanitarian coordination, rapid needs assessments, and full-cycle recovery, rehabilitation, and Build Back Better approaches. By providing policy-relevant analysis, evidence generation, and institutional capacity strengthening, we enhance disaster and risk management systems, translating risk-informed strategies into effective, resilient, and inclusive outcomes that support sustained peace and development.
